The "Smoke and Spotlight" compilation series started as a collaboration of X-Pop Society and DJ Cyberpagan in 2006, but turned into a solo project of DJ Cyberpagan in 2007.
The compilation series was released from 2006 to 2011 every year in spring, and in 2023 the decision was made to put together a 7th edition.
